Children's & Family Portraits

Each child is an individual, whatever their ability and character, every child has a unique gift to share. In my portrait photography I hope to capture a meaningful moment, a hint of a smile, a grip of a hand, a rolling tear or a great big bear hug. The images should speak for themselves, communicate a message and leave a lasting impression - just as children do!

Firstly we shall talk through what you think would suit you best regarding venue or location. We decide if the session will be at your home or perhaps a favourite beach, park or wood. I will offer advice and guidance at this stage if required.

On the day you can bring along toys, dressing up outfits or just their favourite teddy - we can talk this over in advance if you wish. The idea is for your child to be relaxed in an environment they feel comfortable in; making the session as informal, relaxed and fun as possible.

I usually find about two hours is a suitable length of time (this can depend on the age and needs of the child - so time is always flexible).

It also allows some time off camera for nappy changes, naps, nose blowing etc. We will arrange a time which suits you, a weekday, weekend or early evening.

My background is one of working with children and families in Schools, Nurseries, Hospital, Children's Hospice and Residential Care. I have also had direct involvement working alongside children with special needs and providing palliative care for children with complex medical conditions. If you would like a portrait of your child who perhaps has a long term illness or is even in a Hospice I have experience of this and would welcome any enquiries from you. I know this is a sensitive area and naturally all calls will be confidential.
