Frequently asked questions

Is there parking?

Yes, we will send you over directions which includes info about the free parking bays next to the building at the Hythe Quay in Colchester, Essex.

Do I have to pay a deposit?

Yes in order to confirm your booking we will ask for a deposit, this way we all know where we stand and the date and time of your shoot is reserved just for you.

How can I pay?

We will send you over an invoice via email and you can pay via bank transfer, cash, debit or credit card at the studio.

Can I visit the studio before making a booking?

You are more than welcome to make an appointment to visit for a cuppa and chat about your photography needs. We do ask people to book before a visit to avoid disturbing a photography session in progress.

How do I view the images taken after my photography session?

A gallery will be sent to you via Dropbox so you can view all the images taken and choose which images you would like edited and sent to you as high resolution digital files (jpegs).

If I want to choose more images than I had originally thought can I do so?

Yes, you will be given a quote for the work undertaken however if you would like to purchase extra images a price list will be sent to you via email .

What if I arrive late to a portrait shoot?

The booking is strictly limited to the times you have booked, as another client could be arriving after you so unless there is an emeregency we ask people to arrive on time.

Can I post products to the studio to be photographed?

Yes we often receive products via courier companies, we will take care of your products whilst we shoot them and then wrap them up and send them back safely to you after the shoot.

Can I book the studio to hire with my own Photographer?

Yes you can, the minimum hire is 2hrs for £50.

Is there a toilet?

Yes there is a unisex toilet downstairs.

Do you do flat lay photography?

Yes, just send us over a rough example of how you would like your product laid out and we will do the rest.

Are you near a train station?

Yes Colchester Hythe station is just round the corner from the building, a five minute walk away.

Do I get a discount for sending lots of products?

Yes, the more products you need shot the cheaper it is per product.

How long has LWP been around?

Since 2009, we take pride in the fact that despite Covid we are still here and still loving what we do.

Do I have to wear a mask?

As things stand at time of writing it is up to you, obviously if you are having a portrait shoot you can remove it once you are seated. We keep our distance and provide hand sanitiser gel.
